This stunning Red VW transporter camper van visited our Bush Tyres Spalding branch ahead of the busy 2025 camping season. Spalding branch were tasked with making this VW Transporter camper van ready for off road duties. These aggressive All Terrain (AT) Tyres from BF Goodrich (BFG) in 225/65R17 fitted over these stunning matt black Calibre “X Load” 17-inch wheels the van can now safely park off road knowing with confidence it can get back “on road” easily. The team at Spalding fitting new valves and balancing the wheels using matching black adhesive balance weights for the ultimate clean finish.

The KO2 tyre from BF Goodrich is available in 42 sizes from 15”-20” diameter, there is sure to be a KO2 available for your own camper van, SUV or 4×4. The KO2 is billed as the toughest all-terrain tyre BFG have ever made, with aggressive traction for on and off-road adventures. They have a robust sidewall design to resist unwanted damage and prevent splits; the staggered shoulder blocks offer greater manoeuvrability in soft soil and deep snow. The tread is also designed to maximise tyre life and minimise wear on road.

BF Goodrich was founded in 1870 by Dr Benjamin Goodrich in Akron Ohio and has been owned fully by Michelin since 1988. The company began by making bicycle tyres but as demand grew for the ever more popular motor car so did the demand for better tyres that could cope with the speed and load of the automobile. Charles Goodrich (Benjamin’s son) then established the first tyre research centre in the USA.

The BFG brand went on to also be used in aeronautical applications and broke many records over the years including making tyres for record breaking aeroplanes and even the space shuttle. Back in the world of cars, BFG has won the Indianapolis 500 and featured on many competition winning vehicles in all terrain competitions such as the world-famous Baja 500, world rally cross championships and even the Dakar rally.

On the silver screen BFG tyres have also featured on cars such as Steve McQueen’s Mustang in Bullitt, the Firebird driven by Burt Reynolds in “Smokey and the Bandit,” the General Lee in “The Dukes of Hazard” and even Bruce Wayne used BFG as the tyres of choice for the Batmobile!
