Bush Tyres at the Walgate Show

Article written by Bush Tyres

The 7th and 14th of July marked one of the most prestigious series of private agricultural events in the area. Around 200 serious farmers attended the invitation only show  over the two days held by A I Walgate & Son in Cuxwold.

The day consisted of great discussions and demonstrations. Together with Michelin we held our own demonstration on ground pressures and infiltration rates, comparing tracks against tyres. We carried out a series of test to show the advantages and disadvantages of each. We also displayed a number of Michelin tyres with the latest VF and IF technology. This created a great amount of interest and many of the farmers in attendance were discussing current set ups and how we could help them improve ground pressures, fuel economy and longevity.

The tracks vs tyre demonstration showed how infiltration rates were much higher when a tractor with tyres had carried out the work. The infiltration rate for the ground covered by the tractor was at 23mm per hour. The infiltration rate for the tracks was just 4mm per hour. This just shows how important it is to get the correct set up.

We had a great response from all who attended and we along with Michelin UK would like to place on record our thanks to everybody who made the day as successful as it was

Wheel Balancing on a Perfect Peugeot 205

This Peugeot 205 automatic visited our Boston Branch recently for Wheel Balancing. These centre-less “Pepperpot” style wheels can only be balanced on a balancing machine using a plate adapter. The adapter is needed as the wheels are unusual as they have no hole in the centre.
