Aventador MOT Just like Your Family Car

After the third year of use even exotic and rare supercars like this Lamborghini Aventador SVJ are required to be MOT tested once every 12 months. The MOT test ensures cars of all makes and model of car are kept in good and safe working condition for the benefit of all road users.

2019 Lamborghini Aventador ‘SVJ’

The first Aventador was officially launched in 2011 and unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show five months after it was initially teased at the Sant’Agata Bolognese. Codenamed the LB834, the Aventador took the place of the 10-year-old Murciélago.

Over the next five years Lamborghini would go on to produce over 5000 examples of the Aventador, making it their second ever bestselling model. In 2016 the model was updated with the “Aventador S” LP700-4. This model using the 6,5 Litre V12 engine known as L539, producing 690hp, this was only the second V12 engine to be fitted in a Lamborghini since the 350GT.

This model, the SVJ LP770-4, was launched in 2018. Performance was enhanced to 759hp and 720Nm or torque, it has a top speed of 217mph and can get from 0-62mph in 2.8 Seconds using its AWD (All Wheel Drive) system. Super Veloce Jota, or Super-Fast “Jota”, tells us the car was intended for fast road and track driving.

The SVJ beat the existing record holding Porsche 911 GT2 RS around the world-famous Nürburgring Nordschleife, setting a lap of 6mins 44.97 seconds, making it the world’s fastest production car in July 2018.

V12. Later models having to use smaller displacement engines with turbos, with the latest models having Hybrid power units to meet the strict emissions requirements.

MOT testing

Bush Tyres currently have 7 locations set up for MOT testing, with new branches been added every year as the group continues to expand the full offer to a growing number of locations.

To find out when your MOT is due, you can type in your registration number on the government website here Check the MOT history of a vehicle – GOV.UK. This will tell you if your car has a valid MOT and will also show you the history of MOTs completed since your car was first tested. This shows you what the car has failed on previously as well as what items may have been advised on the previous year’s tests.

To give your car the best chance of passing the test it would be advised to keep your car in the best condition possible. This way you can help avoid having a large repair bill at the same time. You can reduce the impact of any nasty surprises by taking advantage of our regular FREE winter and summer checks, as well as the FREE brake and Tyre checks on offer at all locations. By staying on top of basic maintenance and keeping your car running smoothly and safely you will never have to worry about a big MOT failure list.

If your car does fail the test for any reason, our fully trained technicians will take time to discuss the faults with you and then quote for any work required to pass the test. We offer a 14-day FREE retest for any MOT when we carry out the repairs for you.

Failures are split into 2 main categories:

Dangerous Defect (do not drive until repaired), Dangerous defects are a direct and immediate risk to the road safety or the environment. A vehicle with a dangerous defect will fail the test,

Major Defect (repair immediately). Major defects may compromise the safety of the vehicle, put other road users at risk, or harm the environment. A vehicle with a major defect will fail the test.

The vehicle may still pass its MOT with the following:

Minor Defects, These are defects that represent no significant effect on the safety of the vehicle or impact on the environment. These items should be repaired as soon as possible.

Advisory items are things that could become more serious in the future. They sould be monitored and repaired it if necessary.

Of course, any items that meet the minimum standard receive a Pass. This means the vehicle meets the minimum legal standard. You should maintain the items regularly to make sure it continues to meet the standard.
