Ascenso Tyres UK Continues to Support World Champion Clay Pigeon Shooter Kallum Burrell

Article written by Bush Tyres

As the 2022 Clay Pigeon shooting season begins to ramp up, the team at Ascenso Tyres UK have expressed how proud they are to continue to support 2021 World Champion Clay Pigeon Shooter Kallum Burrell as he prepares for the season ahead.

After a great season last year, which saw Kallum become a double World Champion after winning as ‘High Gun’ at the 2021 Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) World Sportrap Championships, winning both the senior and junior titles, Kallum clearly has an exciting year ahead of him.

Last October, Ascenso Tyres UK announced plans to sponsor Kallum which had commenced with immediate effect, supporting him through his winter training, and now into this year’s clay shooting season and beyond. Tom Bush of Ascenso Tyres UK / BA Bush & Son said, "We are very proud to be able to continue to support Kallum as he makes his way in the Clay Pigeon Shooting World. Kallum has been working very hard in the build up to the season, so we are very excited to see how he gets on this year."

In the build up to the 2022 competitive season, Kallum has been practising once a week, juggling this with studying for his exams as well as lessons with his shooting coach John Lee to help him get back up to speed for the start of the season. In preparation, Kallum has also had a new stock made for his gun which is custom made for him, this makes it a much more natural process when shooting.

So far, the season has seen the first England Team selection shoot, Kallum is currently placed 4th in the selection table for juniors (Under 21’s) for the home international which will this year be held in Jersey.

By far the biggest competition of the season for Kallum will be the World championships in San Antonio, Texas this April. For the first time, Kallum will be a part of the England junior team for this event. Kallum commented, "I am especially looking forward to our trip to San Antonio next month, it will be my first time shooting abroad and my first time as a part of the England team, as well as a chance to see new targets that are set differently to how they are here in the UK."

Kallum is also booked into the English and British championships for this year and will also be shooting the England team selection shoots, hoping to retain his place within the team.

Kallum was also recently nominated for the Emerging Shooter of the Year Award at the annual CPSA awards evening. This is the award for someone who has begun to show great potential early in their shooting career, which Kallum certainly has. This year Kallum just missed out on the title but is hoping he will do enough this year to earn another nomination.

As well as shooting, Lincolnshire based Kallum is a keen footballer and is the vice chairman of the North Holland Young Farmers Club where he regularly attends meetings and events at both club and county level. As well as having competed at national level twice in Clay Pigeon shooting, which he won last year in the Under 19s category, the Young Farmers hold an annual county rally where they hold loads of small competitions to gain points while competing against the other Young Farmers clubs in the county.

Kallum added, "Just a brief thank you to Ascenso Tyres UK and East of England Shooting Ground for deciding that I am worthy of their support over this season and all the friends and family that have supported me over the past couple of years and encouraged me allowing me to see what I can achieve when I put my mind to it."

Ascenso Tyres UK is incredible proud to be sponsoring Kallum, as well as recently announcing that we will be sponsoring Britain’s Fittest Farmer 2022, an event launched by Farmers Weekly as a fun way of sparking a vital discussion about the physical and mental health of the nation’s farmers.

Ascenso Tyres aims to provide farmers and farming contractors with long-lasting tyres that are specially designed for a variety of farming applications and conditions as well as industrial, construction, earth mover and forestry tyres. Ascenso Tyres UK is handled exclusively by BA Bush and Son Ltd and we are rolling the brand out to tyres dealers across the UK as part of their Ascenso Dealer Program with dealers already signed up in the East of England, Wales, North West, Scotland and even the Shetland Islands.
