1994 Jaguar XJS 4.0

The Jaguar that followed the E-Type, following one of the most iconic sports coupes ever produced, is a tough job.

Relatively unloved at the time, remaining examples of this 90s flagship coupe are now cherished by their owners and a confirmed modern classic.

This owner’s car is a 1994 facelift released under Ford’s ownership, production of the XJS ended in 1996 and the car was replaced by the XK8, and a return to the more familiar flowing curves of the E-Type.

The 4.0 engine is an in line six with 3980cc, producing 238hp and 281ftlb of torque. This XJS has a top speed of 147mph and can get from 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds.

The more economical IL6 engine only managed around 24mpg which sounds terrible until you compare it to the 15mpg of the higher capacity V12 model.

A true classic grand tourer capable of travelling great distance in traditional Jaguar fashion, “grace, space and pace.”
