Jaguar X351 XJR-L

The Jaguar X351 is the fourth generation XJ, first released in 2010 and produced for nearly a decade through to 2019. Sadly, Jaguar have confirmed this model will be the last generation of XJ that ever produced. The Castle Bromwich based manufacturer had originally planned an all-electric XJ, but the project was cancelled in February 2021 due to lack of demand.

The iconic saloon that put Jaguar on the world map as a leader in luxury and technology is being replaced with now more popular SUV models. If this was not sad enough news for fans of the “big cat”, the Indian owned car maker also announced, from 2025 it will be an all-electric brand. No longer producing any Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models.

Jaguar will focus entirely on its vision as an all-Electric Vehicle (EV) luxury vehicle manufacturer. After over 47 years since the original XJ6 was launched in 1968 over 1 million XJ models were sold by 2015.

Introduced in 2013, this owners’ example is the rare XJR-L model, the range topping 5.0 V8 engine fitted here to the largest “L”- long wheelbase model. 125mm longer than the standard saloon. The engine is also supercharged, this develops over 542hp. The power drives the rear wheels through an 8 speed ZF gearbox and propels the all-aluminium bodied super saloon from 0-60 in under 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 174 mph.
