MOT Test Pass For Powerful V8 Ambulance

Article written by Bush Tyres MOT Test

There’s No Secret To Passing Your MOT Test

This 1998 LDV converted ambulance visited Allround Tyres for a full MOT test recently. This might just be the best sounding ambulance we have ever heard, powered by the mighty Rover 3.5 Litre V8. During ownership, this Ambulance has been regularly serviced and maintained, which made passing its MOT test, so much easier.

MOT Testing

The UK government first introduced the Ministry of Transport (MOT) test in 1960. Initially checking cars basic safety once they reached 10 years old! Vehicles are now tested once they reach 3 years of age and then annually through to the vehicles 40th year when they become exempt. Since the Covid pandemic and the rising cost-of-living crisis. Ministers had suggested testing should be moved to a new 4+2 arrangement.

This has led to great debate in parliament and motoring organisations such as the AA and RAC insisting that a reduction in the current standard could lead to even greater concerns over road safety. Many owners solely rely on the annual test and do not perform any additional maintenance, service, or repair work between tests. As well as an annual MOT test, advice is that your car should be serviced regularly, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.

If you keep your car regularly inspected and serviced, you should never have any concerns about failing your MOT test. We would always recommend that you keep your vehicle above the minimum standard, this is proven to cost less overall and provide more reliability and help your vehicle last as long as possible. You can do this by taking advantage of the many FREE checks on offer from Bush Tyres, including Tyres, Brakes, Battery, Alignment, and suspension. As well as those checks Bush Tyres offers competitively priced servicing options for all makes and models of vehicles of all ages.

Having passed their MOT test, and with a new clean bill of health, again thanks to the owner’s diligent care of their Ambulance, this cherished vehicle should be able to continue long into the future.

This now rare LDV converted ambulance was once a common sight on UK roads. More likely now to be seen featured on TV or in a film. Ideally suited for many of the nostalgia events and fairs running through the country this summer. These events feature period cars and dress, this vehicle would provide medical assistance if required all within the period setting. Hopefully, they would still use modern medical techniques if required.

Despite its appearance, the ambulance can still provide medical assistance alongside its period looks and that wonderful old smell of petrol and the sound of thunder from that classic V8!
