Toyo Tires “Proxes” sustainable tyre wins at the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie

Earlier this year, Toyo Tires introduced a concept tyre which they had developed, amazingly 90% – of the tyres total make up was from sustainable materials. The tyre was displayed at the Tokyo Auto Salon and then onto the AMTS Budapest exhibition.

Toyo Tire’s Proxes slick tyres have been designed and built using advanced technologies to incorporate sustainable raw materials within the tyres overall make up. These sustainable tyres which were fitted to team Toyo Tires,’ Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo’s for the first four rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in the SP10 class,  saw the team win two of the first four rounds.

Sustainable Tyre Concept

Developed at the Nürburgring circuit, these tyres use plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire. This creates a tyre which is both sustainable and highly effective, as proved during extreme use.

Toyo Tires plan to use their new Proxes sustainable tyres at the Nürburgring 24 -hour ultimate endurance race on 1st June 2024.
