Correct wheel alignment, improves grip, tyre life and fuel economy. This Audi Q4 e-Tron visited Norwich branch for an alignment check and adjustment. This car is also fitted with some of the latest Driving aids, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems or ADAS. These systems were developed to improve safety and enhance overall driving experience. These systems include Lane keep assist, radar adaptive cruise control, blind Spot monitors, brake assist, collision avoidance systems and more. These are ultimately leading us toward a completely driverless future. For now, these systems are there to help drivers avoid or minimise accidents and incidents on the road.

Have any changes have been made to your vehicle’s suspension? Has the vehicle had an impact? Has a windscreen been replaced? Or, have any adjustments been made to the vehicle’s setup? These are all questions we should ask, if you are unsure about any of these, the ADAS equipment must be properly checked and re-calibrated if necessary. Incorrectly calibrated systems can cause systems to de-activate. A system that is not working correctly could even cause a vehicle to behave in an unpredictable way. Thankfully these systems usually fail into an off position with a warning light illuminated on the dashboard. Accurate adjustment is vital in ensuring the safety systems work as the manufacturer intended.

There are two main types of calibration, Static and Dynamic. At Bush Tyres we can carry out both methods using equipment following the original manufacturer standards. Our staff are also trained to IMI standards, meaning we can also carry out calibrations as part of any insurance approved repairs if necessary. For a complete list of ADAS functions and other FAQs, please visit our ADAS Calibration page.
